A Importância Do Núcleo De Apoio À Saúde Da Família (NASF) Na Saúde Pública – Integração Do Médico-Veterinário Em Programas De Saúde Pública MV&Z
Dalcuchi, M..

Bras. Med. Vet. Zootec.
Rivera,G.G.; Bueno,G.M.; Paula,V.B.; Santo,M.Q.P.; Matsui,A.; Escoba,A.; Vasconcelos,R.O.; Canola,J.C.; Canola,P.A.; Lacerda-Neto,J.C..

Econ. Sociol. Rural
Scalco,Andréa Rossi; Souza,Roberta; Campos-Silva,Willerson Lucas; Baker,Gregory.

A landscape genetic analysis of important agricultural pest species in Tunisia: The whitefly Bemisia tabaci ArchiMer
Ben Abdelkrim, Ahmed; Hattab, Tarek; Fakhfakh, Hatem; Belkadhi, Mohamed Sadok; Gorsane, Faten.
Combining landscape ecology and genetics provides an excellent framework to appreciate pest population dynamics and dispersal. The genetic architectures of many species are always shaped by environmental constraints. Because little is known about the ecological and genetic traits of Tunisian whitefly populations, the main objective of this work is to highlight patterns of biodiversity, genetic structure and migration routes of this pest. We used nuclear microsatellite loci to analyze B. tabaci populations collected from various agricultural areas across the country and we determine their biotype status. Molecular data were subsequently interpreted in an ecological context supplied from a species distribution model to infer habitat suitability and hereafter...

A late Quaternary record of seasonal sea surface temperatures off southern Africa ArchiMer
Loftus, E.; Sealy, J.; Leng, M. J.; Lee-thorp, J. A..
The southern Cape coastal region is important for understanding both the behavioural history of modern humans, and regional and global climate dynamics, because it boasts a long archaeological record and occupies a key geographical location near the intersection of two major oceans. The western boundary Agulhas Current, implicated in global heat exchange dynamics, is an important modulator of southern African climates and yet we understand its past behaviour only broadly as the Current itself scours the coastal shelf and marine sediment core records necessarily provide little detail. Numerous archaeological sites from both the late Pleistocene and Holocene provide the opportunity for reconstruction of near shore seasonal SST records, which respond both to...

A lognormal distribution of the lengths of terminal twigs on self-similar branches of elm trees OAK
Koyama, Kohei; Yamamoto, Ken; Ushio, Masayuki.
Lognormal distributions and self-similarity are characteristics associated with a wide range of biological systems. The sequential breakage model has established a link between lognormal distributions and self-similarity and has been used to explain species abundance distributions. To date, however, there has been no similar evidence in studies of multicellular organismal forms. We tested the hypotheses that the distribution of the lengths of terminal stems of Japanese elm trees (Ulmus davidiana), the end products of a self-similar branching process, approaches a lognormal distribution. We measured the length of the stem segments of three elm branches and obtained the following results: (i) each occurrence of branching caused variations or errors in the...

A macroscopic classification of the embryonic development of the one-sided livebearer Jenynsia multidentata (Teleostei: Anablepidae) Neotropical Ichthyology
López-Rodríguez,Nathalia C.; Barros,Cíntia M. de; Petry,Ana Cristina.
ABSTRACT This study proposes eight stages according to the main discernible changes recorded throughout the embryonic development of Jenynsia multidentata. The development of morphological embryo structures, pigmentation, and changes in tissues connecting mother and embryo were included in the stage characterization. From the fertilized egg (Stage 1), an embryo reaches the intermediary stages when presenting yolk syncytial layer (Stage 2), initial pigmentation of the outer layers of the retina and dorsal region of the head (Stage 3), and the sprouting of the caudal (Stage 4), dorsal and anal fins (Stage 5). During the later stages, the ovarian folds enter the gills, and the body pigmentation becomes more intense (Stage 6), the body becomes elongated (Stage...

A mathematical model for predicting the drying rate of cocoa bean (Theobroma cacao L.) in a hot air dryer using dimensional analysis CIGR Journal
Nwakuba, Nnaemeka Reginald.
Development of a mathematical model for predicting the drying rate of a thin layer cocoa bean in a convective hot air dryer using dimensional analysis based on the Buckingham’s π theorem is presented. Results obtained show that drying rate decreases as the moisture level reduces due to increase in the intra-particle resistance to internal moisture migration of the cocoa beans. High coefficients of determination of 94.7%, 94.7% and 99.5% at temperatures of 60, 70 and 80oC respectively between the predicted and experimental values showed that the method is good. The model was validated with data obtained from an existing thin layer convective dryer and there was no significant difference between the experimental drying rate and the predicted values at 5%...

A Mechanism Study of NMDAR1 in A Rat Alzheimer Disease (AD) Model BABT
Peng,Tianzhong; Huang,Xuedi; Hu,Suifa; Xie,Gui; Zhou,Cheng; Xiong,Jia; Liu,Rui.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the expression and mechanism of N- methyl -D- aspartate receptor 1 (NMDAR1) in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease (AD). Eighty adult Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups (n=20 each) to receive an injection of 0, 5, 7 and 10 μl of 1 μg/μl amyloid-β 42 (Aβ1-42) in the hippocampus. Twenty rats in normal control group were injected with equal volume of saline. After 10 days, the hippocampus was isolated from 5 randomly selected rats in each group. The NMDAR1 protein and mRNA expression was determined by immunohistochemical staining and qRT-PCR. The aquaporin-1 (AQP-1) mRNA expression was also measured by qRT-PCR. We found that both NMDAR1 and AQP-1 expression in Aβ1-42 groups was increased in a...

A multi-gene phylogeny of Lactifluus (Basidiomycota, Russulales) translated into a new infrageneric classification of the genus Naturalis
Crop, E. de; Nuytinck, J.; Putte, K. van de; Wisitrassameewong, K.; Hackel, J.; Stubbe, D.; Hyde, K.D.; Roy, M.; Halling, R.E.; Moreau, P.-A.; Eberhardt, U.; Verbeken, A..
Infrageneric relations of the genetically diverse milkcap genus Lactifluus (Russulales, Basidiomycota) are poorly known. Currently used classification systems still largely reflect the traditional, mainly morphological, characters used for infrageneric delimitations of milkcaps. Increased sampling, combined with small-scale molecular studies, show that this genus is underexplored and in need of revision. For this study, we assembled an extensive dataset of the genus Lactifluus, comprising 80 % of all known species and 30 % of the type collections. To unravel the infrageneric relationships within this genus, we combined a multi-gene molecular phylogeny, based on nuclear ITS, LSU, RPB2 and RPB1, with a morphological study, focussing on five important...

A multi-proxy analysis of Late Quaternary ocean and climate variability for the Maldives, Inner Sea ArchiMer
Bunzel, Dorothea; Schmiedl, Gerhard; Lindhorst, Sebastian; Mackensen, Andreas; Reolid, Jesus; Romahn, Sarah; Betzler, Christian.
As a natural sediment trap, the marine sediments of the sheltered central part of the Maldives Inner Sea represent an exceptional archive for paleoenvironmental and climate changes in the equatorial Indian Ocean. To evaluate the complex interplay between high-latitude and monsoonal climate variability, related dust fluxes, and regional oceanographic responses, we focused on Fe/Al, Ti/Al and Si/Ca ratios as proxies for terrigenous sediment delivery and total organic carbon (TOC) and Br XRF counts as proxies for marine productivity. Benthic foraminiferal fauna distributions, grain size and stable delta O-18 and delta C-13 data were used for evaluating changes in the benthic ecosystem and changes in the intermediate water circulation, bottom water current...

In recent decades, numerous studies have sought to better understand the mechanisms underlying the compatibility between Biomphalaria glabrata and Schistosoma mansoni. The developments of comparative transcriptomics, comparative genomics, interactomics and more targeted approaches have enabled researchers to identify a series of candidate genes. However, no molecular comparative work has yet been performed on multiple populations displaying different levels of compatibility. Here, we seek to fill this gap in the literature. We focused on B. glabrata FREPs and S. mansoni SmPoMucs, which were previously demonstrated to be involved in snail/schistosome compatibility. We studied the expression and polymorphisms of these factors in combinations of snail and...

A multivariate approach to explore the genetic variability in the F2 segregating population of a tomato second cycle hybrid JBAG
Cabodevila,V.G; Picardi,L.A; Pratta,G.R.
Segregating progeny from the tomato Second Cycle Hybrids (SCH) that were obtained from crossing RIL (Recombinant Inbred Lines) allows the detection of new genetic combinations that could increase genetic variability in F2 populations. The objectives of the present study were to evaluate eleven tomato quality traits in a segregating F2 population obtained from a SCH and, then, to characterize the molecular diversity by six AFLP (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism) primer combinations. Different multivariate analyses were used to assess the degree of concordance among these two approaches to detect genetic variability. Sixty-nine F2 plants were obtained by selfing the SCH (ToUNR18xToUNR1). The parental RIL were derived from an interspecific cross between...

A never-ending story: the steadily growing family of the FA and FA-like genes Genet. Mol. Biol.
Gueiderikh,Anna; Rosselli,Filippo; Neto,Januario B.C..
Abstract Among the chromosome fragility-associated human syndromes that present cancer predisposition, Fanconi anemia (FA) is unique due to its large genetic heterogeneity. To date, mutations in 21 genes have been associated with an FA or an FA-like clinical and cellular phenotype, whose hallmarks are bone marrow failure, predisposition to acute myeloid leukemia and a cellular and chromosomal hypersensitivity to DNA crosslinking agents exposure. The goal of this review is to trace the history of the identification of FA genes, a history that started in the eighties and is not yet over, as indicated by the cloning of a twenty-first FA gene in 2016.

A New Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor from Green Glycosylation of Trachyloban-19-oic Acid by Mucor plumbeus Anais da ABC (AABC)
SANTOS,GABRIEL F. DOS; TAKAHASHI,JACQUELINE A..
ABSTRACT The in vitro metabolism of a widespread natural product, trachyloban-19-oic acid (1), by the fungal species Mucor plumbeus was studied in a sucrose-yeast liquid medium. Two products were isolated, and their structures were determined by spectroscopic means as 7β-hydroxytrachyloban-19-oic acid (5) and trachyloban-19-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester (6). To the best of our knowledge, compound 6 is herein reported by the first time in the literature. These compounds were assayed for acetylcholinesterase inhibition along with some related compounds. Compound 6 showed the highest acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity at 10000 µg/mL among the tested compounds, a result (92.89%) comparable to the activity of the positive control, galanthamine (94.21%)....

A new application of principal response curves for summarizing abrupt and cyclic shifts of communities over space ArchiMer
Auber, Arnaud; Travers-trolet, Morgane; Villanueva, Ching-maria; Ernande, Bruno.
There is a growing need to easily describe and synthesize the dynamics of ecosystems’ components in space and time. Most multivariate analyses provide ordination diagrams or biplots that are too cluttered to allow simple reading and are unfamiliar to most users. To overcome such difficulties, a novel application of principal response curves (PRCs) is proposed. Principal response curves are traditionally used to assess treatment effects on community structure measured repeatedly over time. In this new application, the tested factor and the repeated-observation axis are replaced by time and space, respectively. The georeferencing of sampling sites permits to produce an easy-to-read map that summarizes both the temporal dynamics of the community and the...
